Biometrics
After you receive you Notice of action (NOA) for the petition submissions, you should receive an appointment letter for the biometric capture. (Usually take 1-3 weeks after receiving your NOA.
In Bio-letter, you will see the date. time and the location information. Click here to find your nearest locations (Application supporting center-ASC) where USICS capture the biomatrices.
Go to the Bio-appointment on the scheduled date. You might need to go through the security of the building (similar to what you go through in an airport). Then you need to provide your unexpired-passport and appointment letter. They will capture your two thumbs and other 4 fingers in both hands. Then your photo will be taken (this is the photo that show up n your Green card). After they successfully capture the fingerprints and your photo they will give you the bio-appointment letter back with some confirmation information written on it.
Then you fingerprint and name will check through FBI/DHS/CBP systems and USCIS will be notified electronically. This process may take between 2-90 days.
Once USCIS receive your background clearance, you will be (or may be) scheduled for an interview.
